Here’s what’s happening this month
We’ve got exciting updates, and some amazing new vendors in the shop. We are also hosting a pottery workshop, and plan to start hosting some monthly pop up vendor markets. First of which, is JULY 18 12-4
Would also like to introduce Jennifer Merrit, my new co-worker. She is an incredible addition to the shop, and I could not be happier having her here. She is probably one of the only reasons I am still somewhat sane at this point. She is here on most Sundays, and some other random days throughout the week when her availability aligns.

Toni Pederson of Mystic Mud Creations will be hosting a clay-date here at the shop. All details are on the poster below. Contact her directly to claim your spot! Only 8 total spots available, and some were claimed right out of the gates when we shared on our social media platforms. Last I heard, there were 2 spots left!)
Golden Gatherings will be hosting a few vendor pop-up markets this summer. The dates so far are: SATURDAYS:

Feature Article
I was planning on doing a piece on the AI data centres that are all over everyones news feed these days. But it has been getting increasingly busier as the cottagers and others are back in the area, and I just haven’t found the time to write. I am compiling information though, and will hopefully get to it soon enough. I appreciate your patience and understanding.
New Vendors & Products
Cosmic Ties out of Perth has landed in the store. We have acquired some of her reclaimed natural fibre pieces that are dyed beautiful colours with ice-dying techniques. Rebecca is a sweet soul, and there is quite the variety of pieces upstairs on the racks at the shop.

Copper Roots
Lana Chenier of Arnprior makes beautiful copper adornments for plants, as well as beautiful copper & gemstone jewelry.
Wheather you believe in electroculture (using atmospheric electricity and metal conductors to improve plant health) or not, these little copper wands are stunning and will imp[rove the look of any house plant.
Brian and Stella of BC Images also dropped off some copper bangles. Copper bracelets release copper ions that enter your body through your skin, they contain certain enzymes to repair tissues. Really good for those that suffer from rheumatic and arthritic complaints. There are little information papers that come with your purchase of a copper bangle.
They also dropped off some weird and wonderful tapestry vests made of moire silk. They were designed and handmade by the late Susan Harding of Hay Bay.
I’ve added to my list of distributors, and have found some top quality products. Including Essiac Liquid, Organic Dandy Blend Tea, Magnesium Flakes & spray. Borax & Washing Soda, Bentonite Clay, and some other staples. Magnesium Breakthrough and other high quality supplements. Pine pollen and tincture, etc. Queen of the Thrones castor oil and packs.
Castor oil products and packs. This is a brand that I have used personally for a while now, and was thrilled to find it on one of the distributors lists.
They use only 100% pure, cold-pressed, hexane-free, USDA certified organic Castor Oil, with no fillers, preservatives, or fragrance.
I also bit the bullet and reordered from the organic produce supplier. The $150 freight charge is now in effect, and the cost of some of the staples will be increasing to incorporate this. But I found a farm that I am happy to support called Home Grown, they are a couple from France and have incorporated organic growing practices since the late 80’s, and the company now partners with over 100 organic farms.
They provide things like stone fruit, and citrus, among others, and we have brought in peaches, nectarines, plums, figs, apricots, and other delicious staples. We also brought in some Quebec strawberries. Organic cherries. Black Grapes. And Fairtrade bananas and avocados. These are all things that I used to out-source from larger grocery stores…. I am so incredibly happy not to have to set foot into another grocery store these days. They have since sold out since I wrote this, but have no fear, I will reorder soon. The stone fruit was fabulous, as were the cherries.
The air conditioning in the store has been a constant struggle, and I did loose a lot of produce to the heat. So please bear with me while we continue to navigate fresh produce in a heatwave.

Time is the weirdest invention, and I am just taking one day at a time to navigate the beast that is Golden Gatherings. I’ll be sure to come back to it’s full version in September.
